Family!!!!! (: and friends :) I love you!
So this has been quite the concoction of a week. But what I'm most excited for is going to the temple on Thursday!!!! Last night we finally caught this less active lady home, Sis. Little-John :) After talking to her for a while we found out she is endowed and loves the missionaries and has visiting teachers. She use to be a stake missionary and go around with the missionaries teaching! She remarried a few years ago after her husband died and she started going to church with some baptist friends. She still loves having the missionaries come but her new husband doesn't care for the church as much but we are welcome in their home and they love doing service (e.g. soup kitchens) with ward members. Lots of potential there :D
Also, last night we saw our Three Amigos. They are 3 guys who live in an apartment complex for people with mental disabilities. They are so sweet--one less active member (Jeffery), one who is on date to be baptized on the 26th (Larry), and last night we invited Jeffery's NOT twin brother, but brother, who looks just like him to be baptized with his friend Larry--and he accepted! We are so excited. Last night one of them brought up the law of chastity randomly in the middle of talking about the word of wisdom. They just said what it was, that it was wrong to do or look at certain things. We stated certain things are fine in marriage, they understood, and we kept on teaching the word of wisdom. Tender mercy.
A few days ago we passed a couple of duplexes and I felt like we should knock them sometime. We looked at our watches last night and had about 15 minutes before our next appointment. Well, what do we decide to do? Knock a few houses! and we were just down the street from the duplexes! Yes!!! We knock on the first door a couple of times. No answer. Okay, next house. Knooock-knock-knock-knock-knock...knock! A wonderfuly black lady opens the door, we say who we are, that we have a message about Jesus Christ and his plan for families and even explain some of this plan. Her name is Juvelle. She kindly states that "I'm already saved. I'm a minister." We let her know how much we admire the faith that she has. Though her words seem like they would be discouraging her tone and spirit say "come on in". She just moved from Georgia and was unpacking. I asked if we could come by still and talk with her and she just lets us know how much she would love that! We had to leave for our app. but asked to leave with a prayer. She invited us in and gathered her 3 daughters who were home and we held hands, and prayed with this sweet, strong, spirit-filled family. They were my favorite people to meet this week :D
Out of time...Love, LOVE, LOOVE Y'all!! Sister McNeece P.S. let Jill know I will email or mail them next week. I love all of them so much. You are amazing and such a great support! P.P.S Conference was sooo amazing will share more of my thoughts next week. "Doubt your doubts before you doubt your faith."
