Dear family,
Monday--a less-active member bought us tacos because he thought that because we're from the west that's all we eat. Tuesday--Trish is getting ready for baptism! She talks every time about how much the Book of Mormon clarifies things in the Bible, that when she's reading it she feels good about it and that it makes sense, and that when she listens to other people she starts to doubt and questions things. She also said that those feelings of doubt come from Satan. Sometimes we will experience those hard times of doubt, confusion, and questioning, but if we will remember the source of those we can always turn them away.
Wednesday--What a day with Sis. Therral. The unofficial Stake Missionary...she goes out with missionaries in every ward, including the Spanish Elders :) She does not leave a house or talk to someone without testifying of Jesus Christ and how The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church, and of the blessings of being a member. What an example? What would happen if every Latter-Day Saint were to testify of that to every person they met?
Thursday--Good-byes to President and Sister Holm out at the Simpsonville building, finished at 4pm and I felt we should take another way home so we did. One person after another we felt we should see Lewis, then someone who had requested something from Mormon.org, a family who was out of town on Sunday (found out it was because their son and daughter in law were sealed in the temple!), and Sis. Stone. One after another it was simply the right person, the right place, the right time. Nothing spectacular. Just doing what you're suppose to.
Friday--We had fasted with Trish a couple days before and she shared her experience with us that ended with her having a firm determination that she is going to get baptized. Water's the only thing that tastes good to her now. She told her family not to buy her cigarettes. She is reading from the large-print Book of Mormon with a flashlight at night, and now says that she knows that other pastors and ministers she's listened to are missing something that this seems to fill.
"It's the little, little things that make a Big, BIG difference. " -Pres. Holm. That was this week...and every week of a mission and of life.
Love y'all,
Hermana McNeece
