I'm sure that Amanda didn't REALLY mean peculiar. She was probably thinking PERFECT or AWESOME or AMAZING or
I, Hermana McNeece, having been born of goodly parents and peculiar siblings, and having embarked on a journey into the unknown, have a great love for Spartanburg and the land round about.
And on this third day of the second month, I studied in Ch.7 of Preach My Gospel--language study :) Having not the gift of tongues and only poor southern have applied this chapter in another way... Instead of "your mission language" simply substitute a talent or gift that Heavenly Father has given you (or that you could pray for). We are encouraged to cultivate this "talent" beyond the minimum requirements and to find other ways to bless others with this talent. Seek to develop it after your mission (outside the class room or work, after kids are out of the house, not just at work). Come up with a specific plan. Seek advice and correction from others who are already experts. Be humble. Adjust your plans. Apply your talent to all situations possible. Have fun!
On yester-sabbeth was a testimony meeting most favorable in my eyes and filled with the Spirit, in the land Spartanburg. One of the brethren even did speak so that the Spirit did pierce me to the heart. He spoke of introspection through prayer, expounding on how we often speak to ourselves of how "I did this wrong...oh and that. I made this bad decision" etc, etc, etc. But our Heavenly Father will, as we pray, bring to our rememberance those things that we have done right in His sight and that we're not all the horrible creature we convince ourselves that we are. Heavenly Father will bring us from being a seaslug a mile below sea-level to being grounded. And from their to even higher ground. But what the Lord REALLY wants is for us to be airborn! He wants us to fly. He doesn't want us down in the dumps, nor does He want us at a comfortable ground level or even up a mountain. He wants us airborn! Our Heavenly Father loves us and will remind us of that love as we turn to Him in sincere prayer. And it came to pass that this brother made an end of his speaking. I am so grateful for testimony meetings and for feeling our Heavenly Father's love through our brothers and sisters.
I doth suppose the rest of the world is aware of the snow weather in the southern part of the land. Fear not! We received but 1.5 inches of snow! Or in other words, not much at all. Only enough to thinly blanket the land and automobiles. This be the only sign of snow since the twenty-seventh day of the eleventh month in the year two-thousand and thirteen of the year of our Lord. A couple strong in spirit from the yonder city of Chicago moved into our humble area! It bringeth me great joy to meet people from the mid-west :D They are so kind and on fire about hastening the work. They already have a goal of introducing themselves to all the people in their community.
I love you each so much and am grateful for your prayers and support. Please be sure to take care of the missionaries out there. Your testimonies mean a lot. Please don't hesitate to write, no matter how short the message. I love hearing how y'all are, and especially hearing your funny moments
And now I go to my resting place at my humble abode in yonder apartment,
