Sister McNeece, Sister Stout, Sister Derrick
(Amanda had to send home a receipt for her new pair of glasses...guess her glasses were the first casualty on the mission! This was the note she enclosed.) Today S. Derrick, S. Stout, and I (we're a trio now) decided to be a Nephite, Lamanite, and a Jaredite for Halloween...er, fall festival. We got "Native American" make-up and headbands...this is going to be great!
The 1st Ward missionaries are in charge of the photo booth. We have to take S. Derrick shopping next week because she's from Arizona. She's never experienced fall or winter (she LOVES the changing colors!). This will be my 3rd year in a row missing the mtns in fall! I met an investigator, Whitney, who loves Wisconsin I think more than I do (She's from/grew up in Columbia). S. Stout passed out on someone's doorstep the Friday before we became companions, in order to get into someone's house. Not really, but it worked! They witnessed a blessing, the line of authority, and lots of other things that S. Stout said they would have to get baptized now that they've seen all of that. Miracles have multiplied since we're over two areas. I love the people. All of them. Sometimes I wish there was more I could do. I love the challenges and I love having a big area. ..
My new favorite part of the Book of Mormon is the Introduction and JS history with JSHistory, I read from my perspective--as a missionary--and the plates as the people, or investigators. You should try reading it like that, maybe your friends, family, people you HT/VT in place of the plates...crazy how we can relate!
I wish I could write so much more!
Tell Bro. Bush & the family hi for me. I will try to write them next week...
Love, Sister McNeece
